A community-rooted martial arts studio in Old Town Litchfield Park, serving the West Valley since 1995. Traditional training. Real results. Every age, every level.
Morrissette Martial Arts has been part of the West Valley community since 1995. What started as a single instructor with a deep passion for the martial arts has grown into a full studio that has trained hundreds of students — from tiny three-year-olds taking their first class to adults in their 80s still challenging themselves every week.
Located in the heart of Old Town Litchfield Park, the studio was built on one simple belief: that martial arts training changes lives. Not just through kicks and punches — but through the discipline, respect, and confidence that come from earning every single belt.
Master Erik Morrissette founded the studio after 25 years as lead instructor at Jun Chong Martial Arts Center in West Los Angeles, training under Grandmaster Jun Chong himself. He brought that same rigorous, caring approach to the West Valley — and it shows in every class.
To build true confidence through Knowledge in the mind, Honesty in the heart, and Strength in the body.
To keep friendship with one another and to build a strong community. Never fight to achieve selfish ends — but to develop Might for Right.
We’re located in the heart of Old Town Litchfield Park — easy to get to from Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, and Surprise.

Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) is a state-funded program that gives parents the freedom to direct their child’s education tax dollars toward the learning options that best fit their family—including martial arts training.
Every Arizona student in grades K–12 is eligible, as well as preschool students with disabilities. The program now serves over 100,000 Arizona families and is one of the most robust education choice programs in the country.
The ESA consists of 90% of the state funding that would have gone to a student’s neighborhood school. Parents manage these funds through a dedicated account and use them to pay for approved educational providers and services.
Martial arts training qualifies as an approved educational expense—meaning Arizona families can use their ESA funds directly toward classes at Morrissette Martial Arts.
Students learn to follow instructions, stay focused, and push through challenges—habits that transfer directly into academic performance.
The belt system gives students clear, measurable goals. Earning each rank through real effort builds self-belief that carries far beyond the dojo.
Every class begins and ends with respect. Students build communication and teamwork in a structured environment alongside peers of all ages.
Coordination, balance, flexibility, and fitness improve with every class. Skills they’ll use for life.
Apply through the Arizona Department of Education’s ESA portal at azed.gov/esa. All AZ K–12 students are eligible.
Let us know you’d like to use ESA funds. We’ll walk you through which programs fit your child and how enrollment works.
Once your ESA is approved, use your funds to cover the cost of classes. Your child starts training, building skills, and earning belts.
We’re happy to answer any questions about how ESA works with our studio. You can also contact the Arizona Department of Education ESA office at (602) 364-1969 or visit azed.gov/esa.
